No, we cannot notarize a document if the person signing the document is not present. As a notary public, we are required to verify the identity of the person signing the document along with ensuring that they are signing it freely and voluntarily. This is a crucial part of the notarization process, and it is not possible to complete the notarization without the person's physical presence.

Why does my document(s) need to be notarized?

Notarization is a way to ensure the authenticity and validity of certain documents. When a document is notarized, it means that a notary public has verified the identity of the person signing the document and witnessed the signing of the document. This adds an extra layer of security and trust to the document, making it more difficult for someone to forge or alter the document.

Some documents may require notarization because they are important or sensitive, and their authenticity needs to be verified. Notarization also helps to prevent fraud and identity theft by ensuring that the person signing the document is who they claim to be. In some cases, notarization may be required by law or by a specific institution, such as a bank or government agency.
